Matt Whaley - Student & Family Pastor
Pastor Matt has served as the Student and Family pastor of Shiloh since July 2020. He has served in many different roles in the church for many years. He is passionate about getting students and families involved with the Gospel outside of the church walls to connect with the world while building God’s kingdom. He believes that the church should be unified and that the stronger we are as a church, the greater effect we will have on our local community and the world.
Matt has an undergraduate degree in Film Studies from the University of North Carolina - Wilmington and is currently seeking a Masters in Divinity degree. He met his wife Allison at UNCW and they have been married since 2007. They have two children: Evan and Carter. In his free time Matt enjoys watching and discussing movies, listening to and discussing music, watching his favorite sports and visiting local state parks to hike their trails or just spend time enjoying God’s creation.
Pastor Matt would love to connect with you through social media or in-person to get to know you and your family and discover ways we can work alongside each other here at Shiloh.
"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
Ephesians 2:4-10
