Pastor Ryan Guzouskis

“Come and see what God is doing among us” (John 1:46).
It is my great joy to serve as the Senior Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, and I would love for you to experience the hope, grace, and community that only Christ can give. My heart’s desire is to help people know Jesus, love His Word, and follow Him in every area of life. I believe the local church is God’s chosen place for this to happen—through faithful preaching of Scripture, discipleship in community, and living on mission together.
The way I think about ministry can be summed up in four simple words: reach, teach, equip, and send. My calling is to reach people with the good news of Jesus, teach the truth of God’s Word, equip believers to grow in their faith, and send them out to make disciples both here in Garner and around the world.

A Story of God’s Grace
I didn’t grow up in church, and for much of my early life I didn’t know who Jesus was. I was raised in a broken home without a father, and by middle school I had become angry, rebellious, and difficult for my mother to manage. At age 12 she made the heartbreaking decision to send me to a boys’ detention home. Looking back, I can see God’s providence in that painful season—it was there that I went to church for the very first time.
In a Sunday School class, a teacher explained the gospel and led me in prayer. I was baptized shortly after, but I didn’t yet understand what it meant to truly follow Christ. A few months later, through the simple faithfulness of a church bus ministry in my trailer park, I began attending a local Baptist church. During a revival service, the Holy Spirit convicted me deeply. That night, alone in my bed, I cried out to God for salvation. Romans 10:9 rang in my heart: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” That was the night Jesus changed my life forever.
God used the love of that local church family and the mentorship of my youth pastor to disciple me, nurture my faith, and eventually confirm God’s call on my life to preach His Word. That community poured everything into me and showed me the beauty of belonging to the family of God.

Family & Life
I married my best friend, Kelly, in 2012. She serves as a pediatric emergency nurse, and together we are blessed with three wonderful daughters—Charlie, Hadley, and Blakely. Our family loves spending time outdoors, cheering for college football (Go Gators and Go Wolfpack!), traveling, and most of all, sharing life with the Shiloh church family.

An Invitation to You
If you’re reading this, I want you to know you’re always welcome at Shiloh. Whether you’ve been in church your whole life or are just beginning to explore faith, my prayer is that you’ll find a place here to encounter Jesus, grow in His Word, and belong to a family that loves you. More than anything, I want you to experience the hope and joy of knowing Christ and to discover what it means to follow Him together with others.
